Any way you’d like

The last few weeks, I have heard several young, high-performing entrepreneurs talk about their daily lives in detail. My assumption had always been that those are the people waking up at 5:00am, working out, meditating, and then getting into the office early.

I have been surprised to hear that, in fact, many of these individuals have a rather unorthodox schedule – some wake up at 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning. They may get in a workout late morning and then have a working lunch with their team. They work until 7:00pm or later and then unwind, going to bed later than the rest of the world.

It is an interesting change that has taken place. CEOs of bygone eras could never have worked with that schedule, but technology and more lax attitudes toward such arrangements make it not only possible but add a sense of enjoyment and flexibility to the process.

There are obviously constraints but, in a sense, you can have your world any way you’d like. It doesn’t happen overnight and there aren’t necessarily shortcuts, but our reality is more malleable that it has ever been.

I have some things in the works that will hopefully change the way my days are arranged for a long time to come. More on that down the road…
