Fireflies blinking once
I was recently listening to a podcast with Naval Ravikant, a prolific investor and one of the most interesting people I’ve stumbled across.
For all of his success in the world of business and entrepreneurship, he has an awful lot of good insights to share about life and happiness and wisdom.
I don’t remember the exact question he was asked, but he ended up down a path that served as an important reminder for me. He said, and I paraphrase:
“We are like fireflies blinking once in the night against eternity, and then we are gone.”
Right before he said that, I’d been concerned about something. But now I can’t remember what it was, because it doesn’t seem to matter anymore. Sometimes a little perspective is all that we need.
