Refinement

I have just come to the end of my second week of blogging. I have already rebuilt my very simple website and the email mechanism behind the blog three times. If you’ve been to the website at all, you’ve probably noticed that every five days or so it looks pretty much the same but oddly different. That’s what happens when you move platforms.

It seems that no service providers can meet all of my critical needs so I’m stuck refining bit by bit. It’s made for some busy evenings as I’ve pulled it all together, but it’s been enjoyable.

I wish I was better at seeing the process of refinement as its own end and not simply a means to something else. With my new little blog, it is pretty easy because this is low pressure. As a husband, father and business owner, it is so easy to get lost in the weeds of refinement that the process itself goes unnoticed.

I’ve learned too much in these areas of my life to have missed the moments where the learning took place. The ability to refine ourselves is a gift that is not to be missed.
