Taking a leap

I believe that most people, myself included, spend the majority of their time doing things they think they ought to be doing instead of things they want to be doing.

I’ve never been a big believer in the “follow your passion come hell or high water” philosophy, but I’ve started to fall somewhere in the middle of that and the “you have to suffer or you’re doing it wrong” mindset.

The hardest part about beginning to do the things you want instead of the things you ought to be doing is taking the leap. A leap big enough that you no longer have one foot in each set of activities. It will feel like you’re lazy or copping out or some variation of those sensations. But if we put our heart and soul into what we want, eventually, just maybe, we’ll be glad we did.
