Welcome to the planet
My first son, Walker Bradley Jordan, was born Friday evening. After an exhausting 24-hour induction, a beautiful, healthy boy joined our little family at 4:21pm on a rainy afternoon.
It is hard to imagine all of the things that I’ll someday wish I’d done to commemorate our joy in having this little guy, but we are trying to cover our bases. We started a notebook for him where we will keep track of his “things” – when he was born, the song he was born to (I Hold On by Dierks Bentley), his favorite toys, words he likes to say, favorite Disney movies, that kind of thing. I wrote him a note. We’ve taken, as you can imagine, a lot of pictures and there are more to come. We’ve had all of the nurses that have taken care of us in the hospital sign a copy Dr. Seuss’s Happy Birthday to You! for him. We’ve had a playlist of some of our favorite songs playing since we arrived at the hospital.
Hopefully that is a good start to his life. And in a few hours we’ll be heading home for him to meet his big sister, Kennedy. What a lucky family we are.
Welcome to the planet, my sweet baby Walker. I can’t wait to see the man that you become.
